On October 1, ChannelEngine and Nakoa Digital brought brands, retailers, and ecommerce professionals together in Munich for our second Oktoberfest event.
The afternoon made room for marketplace questions, practical examples, and different perspectives. The evening gave everyone time to get to know each other over Bavarian food and a beer. This tradition is brewing nicely.
AI in action and new marketplace opportunities
Dex van Hofwegen presented ChannelEngine’s new Seller Report, adding research to an afternoon focused on marketplace growth.
Patrick Bauernfeind followed with the official live premiere of Nakoa Brain, Nakoa’s AI operating system, using an example from marketplace work to show it in action.
A keynote from TikTok Shop brought another channel into the conversation. For brands considering where to expand, the session put TikTok Shop on the afternoon’s discussion list alongside AI and multi-marketplace operations.
Brand stories behind the marketplace strategy
We had the pleasure of hearing from Sarah Baur of DIGEL and Steven Torok of hoggisleep in a panel.
DIGEL brought the perspective of an established fashion brand with a wholesale background. Hoggisleep brought the experience of a US mattress brand moving from B2B into marketplace selling.
The discussion explored the work behind that transition: building a team, choosing partners, managing category-specific demands, and deciding where to grow next. Product data, variants, shipping, and returns all featured in the questions.
Different products bring different operational challenges. Hearing both perspectives gave attendees a chance to consider how those questions apply to their own businesses.
Fact or Fake? The room had opinions.
Then it was the audience’s turn. Our Fact or Fake game asked guests to choose a side until there was only one person standing - the fact or fake expert.
The room didn’t always agree, which was part of the fun. Seeing people answer the same question differently added another perspective to the afternoon, along with a little friendly competition.
Some were luckier than others and even secured themselves an official Oktoberfest beer stein alongside our ChannelEngine octopus and a marzipan heart!

From the conference room to the Wiesn
With the presentations wrapped up, we headed to the Wiesn. Slides away, Steins raised, and conversations free to wander beyond the agenda.
That time together is a big part of why we host this event. An afternoon panel can introduce someone’s business. An evening together gives you a chance to get to know the person behind it.
Thank you to Nakoa Digital team for co-hosting, to our speakers for sharing their experiences, and to everyone who joined us for the questions, conversations, and laughs.
You’ve given us plenty of reasons for edition three. Prost!%20(700%20x%20500%20px).png?width=700&height=500&name=website%20page%20768x768%20(768%20x%20768%20px)%20(700%20x%20500%20px).png)
