On Wednesday, July 15th, 2026, we hosted the first-ever Marketplace Agency Alliance UK at PalmerSport in Bedford, and it's safe to say this wasn't your typical industry event. We invited 25 of the UK's most active marketplace agencies for a full day built around three things: Genuine relationship building, honest strategic dialogue, and a shared experience that gave those conversations a very different kind of energy.
For us at ChannelEngine, the goal was simple: Create a home for the best agency minds in the UK. A space that didn't exist before, and should have.
Engines on. Let's go.
The morning kicked off at PalmerSport, one of the UK's premier motorsport venues, where attendees got behind the wheel for an exclusive track experience across 5 vehicles and 5 tracks. Whether you'd driven on a circuit before or not, there's something about navigating a racing track that has a way of breaking down barriers fast. By the time lunch was served, the room felt less like a curated guest list and more like a group of people who'd already earned a bit of mutual respect.
Breakfast, a two-course seated lunch, and afternoon refreshments kept the energy going throughout, because the conversations we wanted to have deserved the right conditions.
Strategic sessions with the people shaping multichannel commerce
After lunch, the afternoon shifted into the content sessions. Jorrit Steinz, Founder and CEO of ChannelEngine, opened with a keynote framing the Alliance's purpose: Not a sales pitch, but a genuine commitment to building a community where the UK's most influential agency leaders can connect, challenge each other, and shape what comes next for the industry.
Partner spotlights followed, featuring Bol, Whistl, and Xnurta, three organizations with deep relevance to the agencies in the room and real things to say about where multichannel commerce is heading.
A coffee and networking break gave attendees space to keep those conversations going before we moved into the afternoon's Executive Roundtables. Two tables ran in parallel:
- Table 1: Agency Landscape & Omni-Channel Adoption - a discussion on how the UK agency model is evolving as brands demand more integrated approaches to marketplace growth.
-
Table 2: AI and the Future of the Agency Model - an honest look at what AI actually changes for agencies managing clients across multiple channels, and what it doesn't.
Both tables produced the kind of candid exchanges that don't happen at conference panels, because there were no slides, no pitches, and no audience. Just the right people in a room together.

Building something that lasts
The day closed with a Podium Trophy Ceremony recognizing the top performers from the morning's track experience, followed by closing remarks and an open invitation to stay on and watch the match.
What made the day work wasn't the format or the venue - though both helped. It was the people. The UK's top marketplace agencies each manage 50+ ecommerce clients across multiple platforms, which means the conversations in that room had an indirect reach that's hard to replicate anywhere else. We brought together a curated mix of established ChannelEngine partners and high-potential new agencies, and watching those relationships form in real time was exactly what we'd hoped for.
This was the first Marketplace Agency Alliance UK. It won't be the last.
